Following the engagement period between ACS, providers and other stakeholders,  the proposals for the new dom contract are being presented to SCC Cabinet on 9th October.   Details of the paper being presented can be accessed on the Suffolk County Council web site – as per the copy email below received from Clare Smith, Head of Service Development and Contracts (i.e document now in the public domain).

I just wanted to let SAICP know that the Cabinet paper has been published on the SCC website and will be considered at Cabinet on the 9th October. Cabinet is being asked to approve the future model for home care and support.

 We have learned from StLH and by involving practitioners, colleagues in health such as, the Alliances and the CCG’s, and working closely with the locality teams. .

I would like to highlight the following;

  • There is almost a year before implementation
  • The model has been informed by the views of carers and customers that were obtained through the Healthwatch survey
  • Where providers continue to work with the Council there will be no requirement to change provider
  • Our main aim is to minimise disruption and ensure, as far as possible, continuity of care arrangements

As most dom providers will be aware ACS have now published their outline proposals for the replacement for Support to Live at Home.   We intend to discuss the proposals at our next JSCP meeting on the 27th September.

A tender clarification has been published relating to a Tender or Quotation titled: Framework for Supported Housing LD, ABI, PD. (CD1214 #1)  Those of you who are interested can view this through the Suffolk Sourcing website.

Clarifications are normally issued in response to a question raised by one of the bidders.
