Friday 20th April 2018
between 10 am and 3 pm
at Trinity Park, Ipswich
We have been asked to forward the following
invitation to our membership on behalf of members Christies Care.
Christies Care hosts Community Day with Circus and activities for the elderly and adults with Learning Disabilities.
Christies Care is a family owned and run care agency, established in 1987.
They specialise in providing live-in home care and support to adults across the UK with a variety of needs, coordinated from their HQ in Saxmundham, Suffolk. Christies Care is CQC registered and rated outstanding.
Christies Care, the national live-in care provider, is organising a Community Day of activities for the elderly and people with learning disabilities and autism on
Friday 20th April 2018
between 10am and 3pm
at Trinity Park in Ipswich.
The Community Day includes a performance by Circus Petite, the Suffolk touring Circus, which will include the amazing Justo the Clown, jugglers, rope walking, hula-hooping, magic, fire displays and lots more. Around the circus performance, there will also be activities including balloon modelling, face painting and a performance from Ipswich Academy’s iDrum.
There will also be pamper sessions available throughout
the day from Suffolk New College.
There is also an Afternoon Tea, starting at noon, for those who don’t fancy the circus. This will include pamper sessions from Suffolk New College, entertainment from Saxmundham Free School and
Sing As We Go.
The event is completely free to attend, although advance booking is essential.
Lin Barnes, Director at Christies Care, explains: “Following two successful events for adults with learning disabilities with Circus Petite over the last two years, we’re excited to have widened the activities we offer to extend the fun and sense of occasion to the elderly. We want to create an environment that is welcoming, entertaining and filled with joy. A good day out for all concerned. A huge thank you to Trinity Park for providing their facilities free of charge in support of this event.”
David Bean, co-founder of Circus Petite, said: “We’re thrilled to be working with Christies Care on another, even bigger event. The last two events have brought joy to so many and been great fun for our performers. We’re looking forward to a great event to top off our Easter tour!”

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
FREE SEMINAR FOR CARE PROVIDERS IN IPSWICH
5- 7 pm on 24th April 2018 – Trinity Park Ipswich
The Association has been notified of a FREE Event for providers in both Norfolk and Suffolk
GDPR Seminar – The Clock is Ticking
What your Care Home needs to do now to comply
THE GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION (GDPR)
Both seminars run from 5-7:00pm and are free to attend.
What is GDPR?
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect in May 2018. This new law gives individuals new rights and substantially increases the penalties for non-compliance. The GDPR applies to any organisation which processes data about individuals whether personnel, customers, prospects, website users or others.
Why should I attend?
James Tarling is a Partner at Ashtons Legal. He is an experienced lawyer who has specialised in helping businesses develop compliant data management systems and processes, as well as helping organisations manage data breaches.
In this practical session James will be cutting through the myths and misinformation about GDPR and will concentrate on the key issues that you need to know and what you need to do. The GDPR is an important change to existing data protection law requiring action from businesses and organisations. However, the good news is that James will guide you through the steps that you need to take now to ensure that your business complies when the GDPR comes into effect this May.
Who should attend?
Care home owners, managers and those responsible for IT, HR and any data custodians within their business, whether large or small.
To book please contact me at email@example.com or on 01603 703094. You can also book online at our website www.ashtonslegal.co.uk/events. If you cannot make the seminar yourself, please feel free to pass this invitation onto a colleague. These seminars are free to attend and plenty of tea, coffee and cake will be supplied.
With kindest regards
